Techno from Melbourne and beyond.

Portuguese DJ and producer Lewis Fautzi has announced a new album, The Ascension of Mind, to be released on Polegroup Recordings.

After releasing on Soma Recordings and Len Faki’s Figure among others, Fautzi’s rise in techno has been meteoric. This album not only solidifies his place in the scene but raises him to new heights.

The collection of ten tracks takes the listener on a journey of cosmic techno, carefully crafted to create a futuristic soundtrack, flowing through deep, intense, and scientific notes surrounding an omnipresent kick drum.

From the outset, Psychopath introduces the LP through granular textures, subtle drones and ambient synths, which provides a perfect precursor to Entering, where the bass and sinoidal sequences create a tense and eerie atmosphere.

Slowing the bpm, Subconscious introduces an opaque bass drum alongside micro hi hats and chugging sequences. From there, Diffracted raises the energy and transports the LP to the dancefloor with electric synths and flanges constructing an entirely immersing and hypnotic environment.

A standout from the LP is Furrow. Aimed at the intelligent dancefloors across the globe, synthetic bubbles and rolling bass subs carry this peak time belter into a caucophany of modular bleeps. A sudden reminder for the listener that this is indeed a techno LP.

Closing out the full length is The Brain Revolution, which presents itself as an evolution of Entering – a beatless, ambient track which brings the incredible atmospheric LP to a magnificent close.

The Ascension of Mind is set to be released on June 16th in vinyl and digital formats. View the video teaser below.
