Monnom Black has debuted a brand new artist to their label for its tenth release, coming from Dutch artist Remco Beekwilder, titled LSD. Drawing on inspirations from rave and acid, the hard-hitting, high-energy EP is a complete club weapon.
A fresh face to the scene, Beekwilder is taking the world by storm. The Dutch native has been releasing EP’s steadily over the past three years, whilst maintaining a hefty touring schedule. The EP shows his diversity and capability as a producer, with three tracks that reflect his artistry perfectly.
Kicking off with title track, LSD, Beekwilder pays homage to the old school scene with groaning rave stabs behind an immensely heavy kick. Vocal samples flutter throughout the track, highlighted with crunchy, energetic hats. From there, Beekwilder provides Concrete Jungle, another floor killer – ominous opening pads pierced with a paranoid acid line, an absolutely perfect combination. Beekwilder returns to the rave scene with the fittingly-titled Rave Mood. Harsh sirens and another monumental kick, Beekwilder has provided a high-octane rush through the past decades of dance music until now.
Closing out the EP in style is the complex Human Mind. Drones and hats layered on top of hats, Beekwilder’s omnipresent kick returns to put an exclamation point on his contribution to Dax J’s label – a mind-blowing package of pure energy.
