Techno Music Melbourne

Russian-born, Danish-based artist Anastasia Kristensen has made a name for herself in the techno scene for her high-octane and unrelenting sound. Commonly tipping the bpm scale at 130+, Kristensen surrounds herself with ravey breaks, swirling hypnotic rhythms, and pounding warehouse techno. Although, with a style and nuance that is far too often forgotten in the current milieu.

We were lucky enough to sit down with Anastasia before her debut Australian shows, to discuss her top 5 favourite tracks at the moment. Full list and links below.

1. RAC – Electrofish

Anastasia – This track for me symbolizes the mystery and beauty of Asia, especially Japan. It’s kinda been sticking with me the past few weeks.

2. Alien Rain & Regal – Acid Affair Pt 2

Anastasia – Iconic acid banger that will surely start any party.

3. Less Distress – Caffeinated

Anastasia – Fast and groovy rhythms from Russian talent Less Distress. She was my artist care in Saint Petersburg and when I heard her tunes I instantly loved her style.

4. Chrissy – U can’t stop

Anastasia – The entire ep from Chrissy is very rave oriented and jocky. I admire the energy in this track and it’s fun to mix that in.

5. Anastasia Kristensen – Ascetic

Anastasia – It’s from my debut ep and has a lot of emotion and textures in it, which I loved making.

Anastasia Kristensen is set to land on our shores next week, with her first show on Friday 22nd February at Sub Club. Full tour dates available here
