Belgian techno powerhouse Amelie Lens returns with her third release on her celebrated imprint LENSKE. Hot on the heels of both an explosive mix CD for fabric last November and a four-hour Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 in April (the longest one since 1997), she delivers the hard-hitting ‘Higher’ EP. Featuring her usual propensity for dark sounds and haunting vocals, this EP showcases the trademark combination of sound and energy that has catapulted her towards the highest realms of the scene.
On the A side we have the euphoric title track, in which melodic synthwork and familiar Lens-provided vocal inflections echo into the far reaches of a faraway dance floor. The second track ‘L’Obscurite’, which marries hypnotic pulsations with mystifying with sonic elements rounds out the first side of the release. On the B side, Berlin’s now two-man force in FJAAK provide an emotive sub-bass rework of ‘Higher’, transforming the titular track into a multi-layered , much ravier version. For the dancefloor-deprived, this will be a fiery treat for ears worldwide.
‘Higher’ will be out on August 21st, in both 12″ and Digital formats.
