Techno Music Melbourne

Hellcat is the latest endeavour from the audacious bbbbbb label – headed up by Iceland’s Bjarki. It’s a refreshing combination of the cheeky, not-so-serioius dance floor bangers from the 90s with the bbbbbb oddball spirit and modernised sound of the future 2k20 stars.

‘Chanting from a Tiny Book’ is the second chapter of Hellcat, allocating one side of a 12-inch to Bjarki and VTSS respectively. Releasing on March 6th, the EP follows the success of the first V/A which featured VTSS, Cadency, Kuldaboli and Bjarki.

After the behind the scenes work VTSS did as curator of the first V/A, the bbbbbb team unanimously invited her to continue her involvement with Hellcat as the label’s A&R.

The tracks selected by VTSS include her own productions with the banging ‘Batman Church’ and the more anthemic ‘How to Win Big’. On the reverse-side are two of label boss Bjarki’s esteemed productions ‘Hellfire’ and ‘Safety Savage’ – tunes VTSS has playing relentlessly in her sets over the past year.

The two artists come from quite different backgrounds, but their collaboration over the past two years has seen them find a common ground and collectively embrace a shared mission – bringing the fun back into techno.
