Jurek Przeździecki’s solo Epi Centrum project thunders back with a brand new LP out on Damon Wild’s Synewave Records imprint, titled Excrescence.
After a handful of enthusiastically received (by, among others, Laurent Garnier, DJ Hell and Joey Beltram) records on numerous renowned Euro labels, Warsaw-based classically trained composer and Buchla System 200e afficionado, Epi Centrum, delivers a massive dose of muscular-yet obsessively detailed acid funk techno.
His 8-tracker Excrescence mixes old and new, tapping on seminal Detroit retrofuturism and heavy-duty pounding mania. One can hear ghostly echoes of his 90s post-industrial faves like Coil or SPK. The record is quite varied in itself, ranging from relentless bangers seen on Association to mental acid cuts in Blaming Others. As well as this, slow bass pulsations show their head on Limited Useful Life, and fit seamlessly within the Synewave repertoire.
Simply unmissable, Excrescence is out now via Synewave Records and is available in both 2×12″ and digital formats. Listen to a cut from the record, Association, below.
